The extension of the Asset Monitoring system involved introducing sensor-based automation to track assets in real time, automate incident reporting, and improve preventive maintenance. This system allowed for more accurate and efficient tracking of asset health by integrating sensor data with the existing GIS-based system. In this extended version, the system leveraged IoT sensors to monitor assets continuously, feeding real-time data into the platform for both field engineers and administrative users (like business admins and managers).

The final design integrated automated sensor-based data collection into the workflow seamlessly, improving both asset management and maintenance operations.
Mobile App (Field Engineers):
Field engineers could now automatically track asset health using sensor data, receive real-time incident alerts, and perform preventive maintenance tasks without manual entry.
Offline capabilities ensured engineers could continue working without interruption, syncing updates when connectivity was restored.
Web Portal (Business Admin & Managers):
Real-time dashboards provided up-to-the-minute data on asset performance, including sensor-triggered alerts for potential failures.
The incident management system helped track, prioritize, and resolve issues faster by automating the incident response based on sensor readings.
Preventive maintenance was automated based on sensor data trends, reducing downtime and improving asset reliability.
